The I4OL exists to help people live life according to what ultimately matters, and has utmost value to them. Core values make up our belief system and are the drivers and motivators for thoughts, behaviors, and activities. Our approach assists one in clarifying and understanding what values matter to them and what values provide meaning and purpose in their life. Because people have different values which result in different belief systems our method of operation is Client Centered where each client is understood to be unique with their own individual belief system. We do not superimpose our values onto them but help them to discover their own core values and guide them to implement actions and behaviors that reflect them. We understand fulfillment in terms of value. Value needs to be understood in terms of what is good. People pursue goals based on what they value in order to fulfill what is good for them. This active pursuit is where meaning and purpose in life takes place. Values can change over our lifetime depending upon our needs, and conflict results when our values and goals disagree. What one person considers to be of utmost value at age 35 married with 3 kids, may no longer be congruent with the values one held at age 22, and being unmarried. One of the biggest problems we find among dual career couples, is what takes priority during the child rearing ages. Another area of conflict we find occurs between executives and their relationship with their families, given their professional responsibilities and their domestic values.
